On the 4th of July 2005, I acquired a farm situated in a little hamlet named Tharoul closed to Huy in Belgium. It's a square court with old stables around, a residence attached to the Tharoul castle and a former dairy in the courtyard. The court is oriented to the south to the Vyle's valley the Vyle that is flowing gently about 100 m below. The farm is in a rural area on a 8300 sq meter land down to the river bordering an ancient guard tower.

On the 23rd of March 2005, a day before Easter weekend, I saw the announce that was just published on internet. I insisted to visit it asap and on easter monday at 16:00 I was entering the court, I was the first to visit. I immediately recognised it, should I say her. After 3 years of investigations and visits, I finally found it. Two hours later I did fax an offer, 30 minutes later the following visitor was doing the same, too late ... for him !!!

Le hamlet of Tharoul is only two farms, a castle, a grange and a house. In the heart of the Vyle's valley, the road that is passing there is going from the village of Vyle-Tharoul to Tahier, pailhe and the "maquis de Bagatelle". Sometime a car get lost there and remember the inhabitants the the world still exists all around and remember them how quite the place is when the quietness is back with the birds cheeps and the wing through the trees foliages.

When I signed the house, the seller's agent gave me a CD with 4 360 vues.
